The Kinesiology Federation (KF) is a professional organisation based in the UK representing kinesiology practitioners, instructors and schools from the variety of kinesiologies available in the UK.  The KF aims, by working as a unifying organisation for the various branches of kinesiology, to maintain the highest standards of training and practice for the benefit of its members and the general public.  At present the KF has over 550 members, all of whom work to a well-established code of conduct.

Although the KF is an organisation based in the UK we welcome visitors from overseas to this site and trust that you will find the information here interesting and helpful.

Looking for more information about kinesiology?
Please look at the Explaining Kinesiology section.  Here we provide an overview of kinesiology, muscle monitoring and information on the benefits of kinesiololgy.

Want to find a practitioner?
Please look at the Practitioner Search facility. Here you will find the contact details of fully qualified practitioners.  Those who we recommend have had their competency assessed after having completed a minimum of 300 hours kinesiology training, of which at least 20 days is attendance based.  The More Search Options facility allows you to seach by branch of kinesiology, speciality or additional therapy.

IKFRP  – International Kinesiology Federation Registered Professional. Members who have completed a prescribed 1200 hours of training in kinesiology and additional core subjects (anatomy & physiology, nutrition, practice management, communication skills, clinical practice) and are up to date with requirements for continual professional development.

KFRP – Kinesiology Federation Registered Professional. Members who have completed a minimum of 500 hours of training including additional core subjects (anatomy & physiology, nutrition, practice management, communication skills, clinical practice) and are up to date with requirements for continual professional development.

KF Assoc - KF Associate. Members who have completed a minimum of 300 hours of kinesiology training but may not yet have completed all the additional training requirements (anatomy & physiology, nutrition, practice management, communication skills, clinical practice) and are under the guidance of a mentor.

Want to train to become a kinesiologist?
If you are interested in a professional training in kinesiology please visit Training Section.  At present there are 11 schools of kinesiology recognised by the KF. In the Advanced K Options section there is information about these schools and the different methods of kinesiology they teach as well as links to their own websites.

Interested to learn kinesiology but not ready for an advanced training?
In this case you could consider the KF recognised Foundation Training or the Touch for Health Synthesis.  Information about these is in the Training Section.

Please note that the KF does not believe that kinesiology can be taught by correspondence course and does not recognise graduates from correspondence courses in kinesiology.  The KF strongly advises that classroom based hours of training in kinesiology should make up at least 50% of the total hours of training.
