 | | | An Introduction | | | Kinesiology serves as an umbrella term for a rapidly expanding group of specialized healing modalities, practised in over 50 countries worldwide. The different branches of kinesiology are tied together by muscle monitoring and a holistic viewpoint that honours the client’s own healing process.
The information provided relates to the ten KF recognized training organisations but there are many other branches of kinesiology taught in the UK many of which the KF considers acceptable as Continuing Professional Development for members. | | | | | Classical Kinesiology | | | Classical Kinesiology is based on Goodheart’s original concepts of kinesiology (AK). It appeals to people who prefer a more orthodox approach to therapy. This system includes extensive anatomy & physiology, clinical medicine, uses a nutritional approach, addresses candida, parasites and blood sugar imbalances as well as using vibrational medicine. Classical Kinesiology specialises in addressing problems such as candidiasis, parasites and blood sugar imbalances. Even though this system uses the principles of George Goodheart's original kinesiology research, classical kinesiology is eclectic in nature and offers a naturopathic approach to the therapy.
Therapists identify imbalances with the aid of finger modes and biomarkers in the form of test vials. Treatment can consist of acupuncture meridian work, gentle bone structure and muscle corrections, emotional stress diffusion techniques, nutrition, herbs and flower essences. Examples of successful treatments include 'tired all the time', chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, candida, parasites, blood sugar handling problems, migraines and headaches, neck and back problems, skin problems and hormone problems.

All levels are addressed, body – mind – emotions – nutrition – energy systems – spirit – soul.
Creative Kinesiology developed in the 1980s as a way of building on from the fundamentals of Touch for Health and other developing kinesiology approaches. The Creative Kinesiology approach is one of working deeply with energy, helping people to overcome deep seated emotional, physical and energetic patterns which can manifest as aches and pains, illness, frustration with life, learning difficulties, depression, lack of confidence, low energy states and a lack of fulfilment or purpose.
The practitioner develops a sensitivity, knowing that Creative Kinesiology is both a science and an art form. The therapist and client work together to discover the CAUSES of the problem and the TRIGGERS to healing. Together, they work to create the conditions for the body to find its own way of healing. The Creative kinesiology approach knows that we are made up of our stories – that our life experiences contribute to who we are today. Not all of our past is helpful or supportive to life now. By releasing unwanted or unhelpful results of our life experiences (whatever they are) the body, mind and energy systems are able to find a new zest for life and full potential. Using gentle balancing techniques – guided by the innate wisdom of the body (the Higher Self) - the inner powers of healing and desire for health are able to work.

It has applications in education, business, physical and performance skills and self-development. Health Kinesiology practitioners use a locked/unlocked response of an isolated muscle to conduct a dialogue with the person’s energy system. Once conscious permission to work is given the client is invited to lie on the couch fully clothed. The HK practitioner initially balances the meridian energy system and asks for energy permission to proceed.
The HK practitioner asks verbal questions and monitors the muscle response. If the tested muscle gives a locked response it signifies a “yes” while a locked muscle signifies a “no”. HK uses a rigorous system of asking verbal questions to hone in quickly on which of their established protocols is the best method of helping the client.
HK has been used successfully to help people suffering from allergies, respiratory problems, skin problems, vertigo, arthritis, migraines, aches and pains, IBS, tiredness, ME, epilepsy, menstrual problems, etc. HK can be used to increase self-confidence and motivation, reduce anxiety, fears, obsessive behaviour and depression.
HK can also help people function better intellectually, reduce clumsiness, improve memory and help dyslexia. HK has been used successfully by people wanting to achieve their potential in sport, the arts and education.

Holistic Kinesiology is solidly grounded in applied kinesiology techniques and further enriched by learning gained from other powerful models, providing explorations of the hidden depths and outer reaches of our human experience.

| | | | | Optimum Health Balance | | | Optimum Health Balance (OHB) is a kinesiological system unique in its integration of muscle response with the use of vibrational icons (visual symbols) that allow the body to lead ‘a conversation’ that both identifies imbalances and selects treatments. Its strength lies in its simplicity of practice while enabling depth of content and effectiveness.
OHB can help with physical aches and pains, digestive and emotional problems, chronic tiredness, dietary intolerances, stress and much more. It enables the client to create a state of progressively positive health at all levels of being and thus overcome problems and raise the person’s energy to the highest possible level at the time of balance and to assist in creating what is desired in life.

A Progressive Kinesiologist is trained to help many symptoms including constipation, bloating, food intolerances, weight problems, back ache, headaches, sports injuries and even how to help skin complaints such as eczema and acne.
A Progressive Kinesiologist employs a wide range of techniques to test and correct imbalances. Oriental diagnosis is use to assess a patients needs while a full medical case history is taken, Test kits are used to find sensitivities and appropriate supplements, flower essences and homeopathic glandulars. Eye zones are studies so the Practitioner can assess areas of imbalance.
A client is asked to lie fully clothed on a couch while some simple non invasive muscle tests are carried out. From the results of these the Practitioner will be able to formulate a treatment protocol.
A tailor made programme is created for the individual client. For example a client may need to increase certain vitamins, avoid certain foods, take relevant flower essences and have specific points massaged.
Whatever your symptoms you can trust that a Progressive Kinesiologist will have completed rigorous training and be able to offer you practical, helpful suggestions aimed at improving your health and preventing the re-occcurence of your symptoms.

Kinesiology is the science of energy balancing and is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology. Kinesiology uses muscles as monitors of stress and imbalance within the body. Kinesiology enables people to detect and correct various imbalances that may relate to stress, nutrition, learning problems, minor injuries and other issues they meet in their daily life.

Three In One Kinesiology has particular success in the field of learning difficulties and addresses dyslexia in its broadest sense. The aim is to help people to overcome problems caused by fear, pain or self-doubt which have resulted in inability to learn, know or change. Any emotional issue can potentially be resolved by this approach, and it is found that many physical symptoms disappear when the underlying stress-related cause is successfully resolved.
As well as helping to improve confidence and self-esteem the Three In One approach can help with clearing addictions and phobias, motivating weight loss, improving performance in sports and overcoming a variety of other limitations.
